Millie had been abandoned and neglected. Lola was found wandering as a stray puppy and cared for by a kind community member until she could safely enter the rescue system.

With the help of dedicated fosters, both girls made remarkable recoveries. That’s when @a_tail_to_tell and @dmrs.lowermainlandhumane reached out to us for transport to their new foster families.

Long-time volunteer pilot @cessna_ag_pilot95 flew them across provinces—in first class! We’re so grateful for her ongoing commitment to giving animals a second chance.

What an incredible journey! Remember the bald eagle we rescued from Moosonee last month? After weeks of dedicated rehabilitation at @theowlfoundation, this magnificent bird was ready to return home!

Why "home" matters: Birds of prey must be released back to their original territories where they know the landscape, food sources, and can integrate with local populations. Releasing them elsewhere disrupts ecosystems and reduces their survival chances.

Earlier this month, volunteer pilot @tangotangomango donated his aircraft, fuel, and time to fly over 1,000 km from Burlington back to Moosonee - completing this rescue`s full circle! ...

Hank & Cash are two sweet pups whose journey with Canadian Wings of Rescue spanned almost 1,400 kms, two pilots, and three provinces!

Their second chances started in Manitoba, where the team at @a_tail_to_tell rescue reached out to us with a request for help: their shelter needed to free up space by moving Hank & Cash to another rescue, @dmrs.lowermainlandhumane.

We activated our team—just like we do for every rescue request—by calling on our network of volunteer pilots.

@cessna_ag_pilot95 volunteered to fly the first leg where she met Walter C. in Calgary for a hand-off.

From there, Walter took the pups the rest of the way to Boundary Bay Airport, where @dmrs.lowermainlandhumane was waiting to receive them.

Thanks to these two amazing pilots, Hank & Cash travelled safely to a new chapter where we hope they find their forever homes soon. ...

Foster families generously give their love, time and resources to the animals they support.

Many rescue pets spend time in more than one foster home before they find the place that’s truly forever. That was the case for Josie, a 7 month-old shepherd mix, rescued as a stray.

Thanks to our amazing rescue partner @wetnosesrescue and volunteer pilot @whysocirrus22t , who brought his family along for the ride, Josie flew from Boundary Bay, BC to Cranbrook to meet her new foster family ❤️

But Josie didn’t have to wait long, she’s already been adopted and we couldn`t be happier for her.

Thank you to everyone who made Josie’s journey to her happy ending possible. ...

Meet Rosie and her amazing rescue crew!

This beautiful 65lb Golden Retriever just got her second chance thanks to some incredible humans! Our volunteer pilot @hermanojonomono completed his SECOND rescue flight with us (we love our repeat heroes!), and this time he brought along his crewmate Esther to help with the mission!
Rosie flew across beautiful BC and is now safe with a temporary foster family while she waits for her forever home.
