Sometimes it takes a community to change a life.

Lady, a 2-year-old pitbull, was found wandering alone and taken in by the @KWSPHumaneSociety. Due to provincial regulations around pitbulls in Ontario, they weren’t able to support her long-term so they reached out to @SPCALaurentides.Labelle to see if they could give her a second chance.

That’s where our incredible network stepped in. Our volunteer pilot @Charles.Morin.Charron and crew member @Nasandratra_aina made this life-changing journey possible.

In a journey spanning 1,500+ miles and over 6 hours in the air, Lady made her way to Quebec, where she now has the opportunity to find the loving home she deserves.

This mission was made possible by a passionate community of animal lovers and aviation supporters who came together to help. A special thank you to @Mathieu.Aviation and Vision Pro Performance Air Club, who generously offered an aircraft free of charge for the flight. We can`t thank you enough.

From a long wait to a happy home for this greyhound!

Last December, two stunning greyhounds, Prince and Bailey, made the journey from BC to Alberta in search of a second chance.

We’re so happy to report that, @ncglcanada has shared Bailey, now Rinsewind, has found his forever home.

This is exactly why we do what we do.

A huge thank you to our volunteer pilot, @Dr.Campbell.Vet.Dentist, and the dedicated team behind the scenes who helped make this journey possible.

NCGL shares that Rinsewind is settling in beautifully: curious about everything, incredibly gentle, and very treat-motivated. Walks are quickly becoming his favourite part of the day, and he’s decided blankets aren’t just allowed on the couch, they’re his throne.

Stories like this are only possible because of the fosters, rescue partners, and volunteers, including pilots like Robert, who give their time, skills, and resources to help animals get the second chances they deserve. ...

Around here, we often say that you can get anywhere in a small plane if you can sit long enough.

That was definitely the case for our most recent transport!

Volunteer pilot, Archie, flew thousands of kilometres over two days, crossing three provinces to get Miley, Niamh, and Lily one step closer to their future homes.

The journey took them from Passion4Paws Rescue to @CalgaryAnimalRescue Society, where they’ll have the chance to find the loving families they deserve.

A huge thank you to our partners at @BrandonFlightCentre and @YBWTower for their support. And a huge thank you to the foster families who cared for them along the way.

WHAT’S IN THE CRATE?

This time…an orphaned baby owl.

Found alone in the Sudbury, ON area back in 2024, this tiny raptor needed specialized care quickly.

Our volunteer network sprang into action and organized a flight the very next day to get the little one safely to the experts at @theowlfoundation

With their help, this young owl had the chance to grow stronger.

WHAT’S IN THE CRATE (part 2)?

Last Spring, our “crate passenger” wasn’t a pet. It was an injured eagle transported by pilot @tangotangomango

A few quick eagle facts, and why wildlife transports are handled differently.

Eagles have incredibly sharp eyesight, so we keep things calm and controlled to reduce stress.

Their wings and feathers are powerful but delicate in tight spaces, which is why secure containment matters.

Loud noise and busy movement can be overwhelming for wild birds, so smooth handoffs and minimal handling are key.

And we don’t do this alone. We rely on the expertise of our rescue partners like @theowlfoundation, along with volunteer animal welfare specialists, to help ensure each animal is handled with care from pickup to handoff to arrival. ...

In several provinces, it’s #FamilyDay today. And for so many people, family includes the animals they love, a reminder that family is who you show up for.
