When our rescue partner, @kennels_2_couches, reached out to make this rescue flight possible, we were thrilled to have two incredible pilots step up.
Big thanks to our volunteer pilots @Chris_A_Eh and Ken who completed this relay transport. When an animal needs to travel a long distance, it sometimes takes two or more pilots to make it happen.

This 2-year-old cat from @wetnosesrescue had a safe flight with our volunteer pilot David (@pwnthew0rld). Her new cat mom Elizabeth was ready and waiting. (Love the sign!)
We will always make sure safety is always our #1 priority. Our pilots are in complete control of their transports and make the final calls on every flight. Our Transport Coordinators and animal wellness specialist support them and our rescue partners through the process to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Canadian Wings of Rescue was thrilled to support our partner, @AllianceNorthFlying, at Air Bridge 2025 — Canada’s first live emergency response simulation showcasing the critical role of general aviation in disaster preparedness.
This first-of-its-kind event brought together pilots, emergency responders, and public benefit flying organizations to demonstrate how airports and volunteer aviation networks can step up when it matters most.
As an organization that uses public benefit flying to transport vulnerable animals across Canada, we were proud to share our mission, and even prouder that several of our volunteer pilots and members of our operations team contributed their time and aircrafts to help make this simulation a success.
Congratulations to Alliance North and all participating partners for showing what’s possible when communities and aviation come together for good.

We have another homecoming! Our volunteer pilot @clayberndt picked up this great horned owl from @theowlfoundation in the Niagara region and flew her back to her original habitat outside Ottawa for release. She`s now back to her home
This is the third great horned owl we`ve transported to The Owl Foundation for rehabilitation, and we`re glad to see them ready to go home healthy.
Thanks to Clay for making the trip and to The Owl Foundation for getting another bird back to flying and reclaiming her home.

Six-month-old Gemma started her flight in her crate — but that didn’t last long. This curious terrier mix wanted a front-row seat to her new life!
Originally found as a stray, Gemma was rescued by our wonderful partners at @a_tail_to_tell . Once her forever home was found, she took flight from Manitoba to Ontario with volunteer pilot @tangotangomango at the controls.
Behind the scenes, volunteer transport coordinator Ryan C. played a critical role before, during and after the flight to ensure a safe and seamless journey.
Now, she’s in the arms of her new family, Monika & Tomas, ready for a fresh start filled with love, adventure, and plenty of co-pilot duties.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this flight and this new beginning a reality.

After months of "owl training school," two graduated and were ready to go home! Pilot @clayberndt stepped up for the homecoming flight, taking these magnificent raptors back to their original habitat outside Ottawa — and got to witness their majestic release back into the wild. From emergency rescue to expert rehab to that breathtaking moment of freedom, this is why we do what we do. Since we`ve been seeing new faces here, we thought to take a moment to further introduce some facts about ourselves! We`re completely volunteer-run and dedicated to running a non-profit community of passionate people doing different important responsibilities together to help vulnerable animals across Canada.
We`ve flown 1300+ animals over 12 years, and we`re gonna continue doing so nation-wide with the help of our pilots, rescue partners, and your own support!

Meet Bentley! This sweet 6-year-old golden was surrendered to our rescue partner @goldenrescue and needed a new start. Thanks to our volunteer pilot Hugues L., Bentley just completed an incredible 5-hour flight from Quebec to New Brunswick, where his loving foster family was waiting with open arms!
Bentley`s journey across provinces shows how far love can travel when we work together to save lives.
