We have received a very special request to support a large animal wellness clinic being planned by the Canadian Animal Task Force (CATF) based in Calgary Alberta CATF Website
CATF is a registered charity dedicated to partnering with communities to provide care to companion animals in order to assist with community safety and improve the health and well-being of animals. They have a team of licensed veterinarians, veterinary technologists and volunteers that provide compassionate and exemplary care and support. Check out their VIDEO
Overview:
A dog and cat wellness clinic for the community of Woodland Cree First Nation Alberta is being planned. This is a large undertaking involving a total of 8-10 Veterinarians/Assistants who will see and service upwards of 250 (!) cats and dogs over a weekend. These doctors are very busy and giving of their time, but two additional days of driving to the community makes this almost impossible without our assistance. Therefore, we are looking for 3-4 experienced volunteer pilots to help support and make this amazing community event possible. The need is flights to assist getting Veterinarian teams both to the community prior (on Friday) and then returning Sunday evening or early Monday to bring the teams back to Calgary.
Requirements/Transport:
As several aircraft will be required, please do not hesitate if you think you can assist in any way.
Departure Location: Calgary (airport TBC)
Arrival Destination: Peace River CYPE
Dates:
Flights to drop off at CYPE required on Friday July 21
Flights to pick-up from CYPE required late Sunday July 23 or early Monday July 24
The Animal Clinic itself will take place in the Community on July 22-23

I could make an early Friday flight, and a Sunday one, but if the Friday doesn’t work, more than happy to make the Sunday/Monday one.

Thank you to our initial volunteers. We are still looking for a number of other pilots as this is a unique, large scale operation.

UPDATE: We could still use another pilot to lighten the load. That said, we are a GO for this series of flights! Pilots who have volunteered will get an email from me with more details, and a planning video conference to follow. Thank you everyone.
