What part should we show more of in these Flight Reports: planning, safety checks, or the handoffs?

Last summer, Max and Maple flew with Canadian Wings of Rescue from their foster home, moving one step closer to the forever families waiting for them. Their story is one of many. Canadian Wings of Rescue is 100% volunteer-run, and we rely entirely on community donations to cover any costs incurred during to make a transport happen. Our pilots give their time. You give what makes the rescues possible.
Max and Maple made it because our community showed up. There are more animals waiting for their chance right now. Will you help us get them there? Every dollar funds the journey. Every journey saves a life. Donate today (link in bio).

This week, we`re celebrating an incredible partner who shares our goal of giving animals a second chance. When Northwest Canadian Greyhound League(@ncglcanada) reached out to help transport Prince and Bailey—two beautiful surrender greyhounds—we were honoured to step in.
Thanks to their tireless dedication and the volunteer pilot who donated their time and aircraft, Prince and Bailey soared across the skies to their foster homes in Alberta, where they`re now one step closer to finding their forever families.
To the team at Northwest Canadian Greyhound League: thank you for trusting us to be part of these journeys. Your commitment to rescuing and rehoming greyhounds inspires us every day.
Are you part of an animal shelter or rescue organization? Let`s work together to save more lives. Reach out to learn how Canadian Wings of Rescue can support you.

From abandoned to adored.
When Skye was found alone on a rooftop, dehydrated and starving, @WetNosesRescue stepped in, and thanks to the generous donations that support their work, she made a full recovery. Now she’s ready for her next chapter: a final safe, loving home.
Huge thanks to volunteer pilot @BradReid_BTC for donating his time (and a whole lot of care) to bring Skye to safety.
On the first attempt at the transport, weather forced them to turn back, but Brad went above and beyond to keep Skye comfortable and secure overnight. Day two brought clearer skies, and they made the full trip through B.C.’s interior to complete Skye’s journey to her new home.
A true team effort, and a powerful reminder of what happens when people show up for animals who can’t ask for help.

We closed out 2025 with one last transport on December 30!
When ground options are limited, civil aviation can help close the gap so animals reach the help they need.
Six puppies, found living outdoors in Saskatchewan with no available fosters, needed a transfer across provinces to care. Volunteer pilot Ken flew his Piper turboprop from Saskatoon, SK to Victoria, B.C., delivering the pups safely to our partner @Itty.Bitty.Kitty.Committeeibkc.
This flight was the final step in a larger rescue effort led by Northern Pup Project in Saskatchewan. Thank you to the many volunteers on the ground—the finder, temporary caregivers, vet teams, drivers, and coordinators—who stabilized these pups and got them flight-ready.
And a special thanks to pilot @Dr.Campbell.vet.dentist who also volunteered for this transport.
Here`s to another exciting year of flying with a purpose!
